Helper?

I've always been talking abt my helpers and my friends always find it amusing when I tell them abt the weird and funny encounters that happened.

I thought i should pen down so prob can laugh abt it next time when i read of my helpers' encounters

In the past, i used to think even if I'm gg to have my own house, I am not gg to hire a helper.
Cos the thought of a stranger staying with me dont seems so favourable.

But after having my 2nd baby, it was relatively hard for me, having to work, do house chores and taking care of both kids. I really wanted to rest on weekends especially and its almost not possible without help.

Thus, Me and KT went maid hunting once I ended my confinement.

One of the agency we went was quite funny, she actually let us bring back 1 maid to trial for 1/2 day cos the maid has no experience in taking care of baby BUT is available immediately as she's a "returned" maid. Thus, why not, we brought her to try out at my Mum's palce, however didn't work out as she can't even carry the baby properly although she was really enthu abt doing it.

After which, we went to this agency in Hougang, probably the agent was v nice so despite their less favourable contract, we still decide to take from her. After the first short experience, we thought we should hire experienced helper so at least this person can really help out in the household.

So finally we choose this helper named A, (claimed to have 3 years experience in Dubai).

So we were q excited abt the new helper, A.

When we are at our place, she asked to go shower so ok. But weirdly after an hr, she's STILL not out?
Seriously??! I knocked on the door and asked if she's ok thinking if dunno anything happened to her. But ok, NO. and after that i realised its her usual shower time like WTH??? And that's not worse, She needs to shower 3 times a day - MIN 1 hr?! so  i finally cannot take it so I told her dont take too long to shower. And ok, improve abit, still 3 X 30mins a day omg

Thats not all. Claiming she can take care of baby or rather have experience in taking care. NO?!
Onve my baby cries, she will look for me and pass me back the baby! WTH X54156464. There's once she attempted to change diaper for my already 2-years old son, instead of asking him lie down, she jus pin him down and bump the back of his head till he starts crying... OMG X 562156465

Despite that, we still keep her. I thought she needs time to warm up. Then best part, claim she can cook, even rendeng chicken cos she's from Indonesia and we though we are gg to have good food liao. NO?! The 1st day we ask her to cook for herself almost make me got the shock of my life!

She can't even fry an egg?! She pour alot alot of oil almost enough to fry like 15-20 pcs of nuggets kind and break the egg inside?! Thats not the worst, she took the chicken straight from the freezer, throw it into the boiling oil! almost scare the hell outta me!! seriously?!
There was once when I ask her if she knows how to steam food (As usual claiming she knows), places the plate of siewmai in the wok and attemot to pour water into the BOWL and steam the siew mai. omg x 25646666666666574.
So end up, scare that she might burn down the kitchen, we dabao or I have to do the cooking for her.

We kept her for almost 2 months before decided we really cannot go on this way especially she always do weird stuffs. Like "Smiling to herself when i scold my kids", "Playing w her fingers and mumbling when she got nth to do in her room", she also eat/drink whatever she likes in the fridge without asking despite I already told her to check with me as sometimes we buy some food to cater for our party etc. She ON the aircon to iron, and even dont bothered to OFF it after she wakes up and go shower cos she said she will feel warm after her shower like seriously TAI GUO FEN liao leh! i let u use aircon during bedtime still not enough meh?!

So end up we sent her back and literally rage at the agent cos how can this helper be experience?! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So finally we change to my current helper, H.
Luckily for us, she's almost 2 years with us.

She does her job well, take good care of my children but of cos I guess nth is perfect. She also have her fair share of problems la. She is too friendly and always talking to my neighbours AND her helpers and after that start comparing this and that within 2 households tt really annoys me. Always have endless taiji and wants and needs to buy this buy that then I must really quickly go find or settle for her if not she will start to ask every now and then and keep niam,

She's much older than me but sometimes I also feel bad having to say her cos her body is not well but always insist on eating junk food and let her asthma relapse + starts coughing again. Damn sian and pissed when i hear her coughing cos I know she can;'t recover is due to her stubbornness and then I ahve to keep spending money for her medications/visits to clinics.  Dont want to eat rice cos she keep telling me she wants to slim down and dont want go back looking fat omg...How to recover if nutrients not enough right

Previously I was really having thoughts of not renewing her becos of  her health and also the increment she wanted. But after tt, she told me she really want to renew too and willing to take a lesser increment as she genuinely love my kids and wants to come back.

SO all in all, having a helper do solve my problem somehow, Not sure if I would still hire one after this 2 more years after she renewed but indeed something I learnt and should take note in my next helper hiring:


1) Always hire EX-SINGAPORE maid, cos they have MOM records and state genuine records of the helper's working experience

Bangkok Trip 06 JAN - 08 JAN

It has been 2 years since i last travelled! OMFG!
Its def not easy esp when we have 2 boys now -.-"

Thanks to my ALWAYS ON STANDBY mummy, she came over to help to take care of the boys despite my last minute requests! <3 font="">

i was so upset cos i didnt manage to reserve the wireless router & it was OOS when i went airport! WIFI-less is damn torturing! 

 DAY 1 -

We stayed at Berkeley Hotel Pratunam -  559 Ratchaprarop Rd, Khwaeng Makkasan, Khet Ratchathewi, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10400, Thailand

The location of the hotel is good! 

Right beside is the new NEON night market! And also walk-able distance to Pratunam Market /Platinum mall <3 nbsp="" p="">

 First thing we eat! This chick wing damn dope!! But only bought one becos we are heading for lunch! TMD damn regret!!!

 We went to Soi 19, but the wanton mee alrdy closed :( so we jus went next door for a quicky lunch but hor V V V so so only

 Seafood in curry sauce - Looks good but jus oily and q tasteless

THB 350 fish, BIG & FRESH but taste so so only also

My fav transport in BKK is TUK TUK, cos you avoid all traffic jams! Of cos if u dont mind the air pollution & relatively dangerous driving :D

Right outside Centralworld! We jus had steamboat at MK but can't resist to the street stalls! 

Then back at our hotel, so we went to the NEON market! Damn big!! was said to have 800 stalls!
They are divided into 2 areas - 50% SHOPPING  + 50% FOOD!

All we do all days is EATING! Just 1/2 day and I think we had like 2 MAIN meals + many small meals omg!

DAY 2 - Pratunam Morning market! Dragged KT up at 7am despite us sleeping at 2am cos i was too deprived of shopping! LOL! But i think im too fatty now cos the clothes they sell damn small tmd! V xinku den find a few pieces that i think can fit me :(

 And then BREAKFAST! Yay! relatively short queue and Soi 19, we waited abt 15-20 mins before it opens thou and then the queue jus keep going liao

 The dopestttttt Pig trotters!! SUa Ku KT been to BKK for so many times but 1st time eating this! LOL! we had 2 plates!!!!

Chinatown - BKK

Cos after shopping, its always food again, head there for shark fins but the nice on next to Hotel Royal is super long queue :( so we went to  Nam Sing. But super disappointing!

THB 1000 shark fins - Not worth it leh! it was pretty ok long time back when i go but this time round, the shark fins are so little! We spent THB 5000 + for 6 pax, But everybody was q disappointed cos its expensive and not v nice. I think that explains y the restaurant was q empty now.

My THB 400 gelish nails done at Union Mall! i think all manicurists in BKK are darn good! Like sui bian 1 also nice lo! Hopefully can last me till CNY

I didnt buy many thing at Union mall, i honestly like the concept and styles in Platinum more i guess!

Us at Terminal 21, we bought alot of T-shirts there, (Only T-shirts are cheap there!) but they have many nice and funny designs!!

KT and his big ass friend! A tourist saw him doing that and LOL-ed hahahah!

 This is the Spa we always go when in BKK, but this time round we didn't do our usual hrbal massage cos the rest not keen for the 165 mins long massage :(

So we only did the 90 mins one that includes foot massage / Back and shoulders. They are not the cheapest for sure in BKK, but its more atas and i honestly think their massage damn soothing. Prob the environment plays a part, its more quiet, not like the usual massage parlors.

And the best part of Lets' Relax - Mango Sticky Rice. FREE if you go for any service > THB850.
